Nominations invited for Organic Semiconductor Industry Awards

cintelliq ltd, a specialist provider of information services and strategic consulting to the organic semiconductor industry, has announced a new series of awards open to all organisations in the organic semiconductor and organic electronics industry.

The Organic Semiconductor Industry Awards (OSIA), sponsored by cintelliq and in association with OSA Direct, the world's leading newsletter on the organic semiconductor industry, aim to bring together the whole of the organic electronics and organic semiconductor industry in a celebration of the companies and people that are achieving the highest standards and driving this new industry forward.

This year's awards will be presented at the Gala Dinner of the Organic Electronics Conference and Exhibition (OEC-06) in Frankfurt, 26 September 2006.

Nominations are invited in the following categories:

Research & Development Award
Entries in this category will be required to demonstrate an original concept, practical development and implementation of organic electronics or organic semiconductor technologies. Judges will look for the originality of the technology, how it addresses a specific market requirement and whether it successfully addresses a design or manufacturing problem.

Start-up of the Year
Venture fund or privately financed companies which have set up operations in the last five years will be considered for the start-up of the year award. We expect entries to cover the full range of business activities from product design and manufacture through to new services companies.

Best Conference Peer-Review Paper
The peer-review committee of OEC-06 will select the best paper submitted. Each paper accepted will be judged for its originality, technical strength and ability to move the industry forward. The peer-review committee members will select their best two papers. These will be reviewed by all committee members and ranked according to predefined criteria.

The closing date for nominations for the 2006 awards is 7 September 2006. Full details of the awards and instructions on how to enter are given on www.cintelliq.com/awards.htm

Entries will be judged by a panel of independent adjudicators including representatives from industry, trade bodies and academia, led by the Panel Chairman Craig Cruickshank, Editor of OSA Direct.

Craig Cruickshank said "This is an emerging industry and it is essential to encourage and recognise those organisations and individuals who are leading the way. In future years we hope that these awards will stimulate, as well as reward, innovation, good practice and achievement."
