Why OEC-07?Now in its fifth year, the Organic Electronics Conference and Exhibition 2007 (OEC-07) is becoming the premier international gathering of scientists, engineers, manufacturers and investors for the discussion, demonstration and evaluation of organic semiconductor technologies and organic electronics. What makes OEC-07 unique is that it is industry-driven: planned, organised and delivered by industry insiders who understand the issues faced in researching,
developing and commercialising this new technology, and who are committed to helping the industry to grow.
History Originally founded as the Organic Semiconductor Conference (OSC), the conference has been run by industry specialists cintelliq since 2003. The Organic Electronics Association (OE-A), the key industry association for organic electronics, had been looking for a partner to work with to create the leading conference and exhibition on organic electronics. Recognising the expertise and the network of cintelliq and the success and reputation of cintelliq's existing conference series on organic semiconductor technologies, the OE-A asked cintelliq in early 2006 to partner with them to develop the conference further. The result of this partnership was OEC-06 and this successful partnership continues with OEC-07. Mission Both OE-A and cintelliq are committed to helping to build and strengthen the organic semiconductor and organic electronics industry through the provision of networking events and facilitating the sharing of information. The OEC event, comprising conference, exhibition and workshops, is just one part of this wider mission. Breadth OEC aims to encompass the whole of the organic semiconductor and organic electronics industry, including (but not restricted to):
This is a young industry and the objective of the conference organisers is to be as inclusive as possible. To this end, generous discounts on registration, exhibition and sponsorship rates are available to members of industry bodies, such as the OE-A and DFF, and to subscribers to cintelliq's quarterly report on organic semiconductor patents. To encourage attendance from researchers in the academic field a heavily discounted rate is available, and speakers have been encouraged to submit papers to the peer-reviewed track of the conference. Efficient The conference has been deliberately structured with only three industry tracks to make it easier for delegates to get a broad overview and to attend the presentations of interest to them. To facilitate the sharing of information all delegates can attend all tracks, including the peer-reviewed track, and conference proceedings will be provided on CD-ROM on arrival so that delegates are free to concentrate on the presentations rather than on taking notes. Ideal showcase The exhibition provides an ideal showcase to promote new technologies and products to a targetted audience. With space to accommodate up to 40 exhibitors, the exhibition area is immediately adjacent to the main conference rooms and is also the venue for refreshment breaks. Time to visit the exhibition has been built into the conference schedule so that delegates have plenty of opportunities to visit the displays. |
