RGBW P-OLED inks for displays and lighting
- In the last 12 months, very rapid progress has been made in the development of commercially viable Light Emitting Polymer (LEP) materials for display and lighting applications.
- Data from spin coated devices using a common cathode and solution processable materials developed in 2006 demonstrate that lifetimes of 24k, 35k, 10k, and 5k hours for red, green, blue, and white, respectively, have been achieved from an initial luminance of 1000 candelas per square meter, or cd/m2.
- This is equivalent to over 150k, 198k, 62k, and 27k hours from an operating brightness of 400cd/m2 for these materials.
- This presentation will focus on how degradation studies that have led to the design of new and improved materials and what challenges remain to be overcome before P-OLED is adopted as a main stream FPD and lighting technology.
